To replace the fuel filter, follow these steps:
- Consult your car's owner's manual for information on the location of the fuel filter. In most cases, the fuel filter is located under the car, near the fuel tank.
- Ensure safety by disconnecting the negative battery cable and relieving fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse or relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
- Locate the fuel filter and inspect it for damage and leaks.
- Use a fuel line disconnect tool to remove the fuel lines from the filter. Place a catch pan under the vehicle to catch any fuel that spills out.
