1、 Preparation for Replacing the Air Filter  

Tool preparation: Ensure that there are suitable tools at hand for disassembling and installing the air filter, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.

Safety precautions: Before carrying out any maintenance work, ensure that the vehicle has been turned off and is in a safe condition. At the same time, pay attention to wearing protective gloves to avoid hand injuries.

2、 Open the Engine Hood When Replacing the Air Filter  

Use appropriate tools to open the engine hood of the vehicle and secure it with a brace to provide sufficient space for subsequent operations.

3、 Position the Air Filter 

The air filter is usually located on the left side of the engine compartment, above the left front wheel. You can look for a square plastic black box, which is usually the outer shell of the air filter.

4、 Disassemble the Air Filter and Check the Condition of the Filter Element  

Loosen the lock buckle and nut: First, you need to loosen the lock buckle on the air filter and the nut that secures the filter element. These components may vary depending on the vehicle model, but they can usually be released by rotating or pulling.

Remove the filter element: After loosening the lock and nut, gently remove the protective cover of the air filter and carefully pull the filter element out of the housing. During this process, attention should be paid to preventing impurities from falling into the carburetor.

Place the removed filter element in a bright place for inspection. Observe whether the air filter element has a lot of dust, damage, small holes, or thinning parts. At the same time, it is also necessary to check whether the rubber gasket on the air filter element is intact.

5、 Clean or Replace the Filter Element and Install a New Air Filter 

If the air filter element is only slightly contaminated and not damaged, you can try using compressed air to clean the dust on the air filter element from the inside out. But please note that do not rinse with tap water to avoid damaging the filter element.

If the air filter element is severely contaminated or damaged, a new filter element needs to be replaced. When replacing, pay attention to checking whether the new filter element is damaged and whether the gasket is intact.

Cleaning the air filter box: Before installing a new air filter, the air filter box should be thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust underneath.

Install filter element: Place the new filter element into the housing of the air filter and ensure that the filter element is installed in place. During installation, be careful not to touch the paper part of the filter element with your hands or tools to avoid contaminating the filter element.

Fixed filter element: Fix the filter element in place and install the protective cover, lock, and other components. When fixing, ensure that all components are securely installed and not loose.

After installation, carefully check whether the air filter is installed correctly and whether all components are secure. Then start the vehicle for a brief test drive to ensure that the air filter is working properly and there is no air leakage.
